Mayorcity E-Mart

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This page explains what information Mayorcity E-Mart collects, why, and how it's protected.

1. Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect your full name, email address, phone/WhatsApp number, matric number, department, level, and a photo of your student ID card. When you post a listing or a Lost & Found report, we collect the details you provide (item name, description, price, photos, contact info). When you pay a listing fee, Paystack processes your payment — we never see or store your card details ourselves; we only receive a payment reference confirming the transaction succeeded.

2. How we use your information

Your registration details are used to verify that you're a genuine student before allowing you to post listings. Your listing information is shown publicly on the marketplace so other students can browse and contact you. Your student ID photo is visible only to you and to platform admins/moderators reviewing verification requests — it is never shown publicly.

3. Where your data is stored

Your data is stored with Supabase, our database and authentication provider, using industry-standard access controls (Row Level Security) so that sensitive fields like your student ID and phone number are only accessible to you and authorized admins — never to other regular users or the public. Payments are processed by Paystack under their own security and compliance standards.
